The EcoFlow DELTA 2 with a 110W portable solar panel combines stored electricity with a way to recharge in daylight. The panel rating describes potential power under test conditions, not a guaranteed charging rate.
EcoFlow DELTA 2 and 110W solar: is this the right pairing?
A smaller folding panel suits users who prioritise carrying and storage space. It provides less potential charging power than the larger options, so allow more daylight to replenish the same amount of energy.
For Scottish trips, plan around shorter winter days and variable cloud. A sunny-day charging estimate is not a reliable promise for every campsite or season. Positioning and shade can matter as much as the headline wattage.
DELTA 2 capacity and charging limits
The original DELTA 2 has 1,024Wh nominal storage and 1,800W rated AC output. Its solar input is limited to 500W within the permitted electrical range. See the manufacturer’s manual, selecting the UK specification.
A 110W panel does not make the power station charge at 500W. Actual input depends on sunlight, temperature, angle and the controller. Extra panels require an approved electrical configuration; matching plugs alone does not prove compatibility.
How long will it run an appliance?
Estimate energy demand from appliance watts multiplied by hours of use. Allow for conversion losses and startup demand. Power output and stored energy are separate limits, so a high-power appliance can exhaust a portable battery quickly.
Use the unit according to its manual. It is not automatically a whole-home backup installation and should never be connected to house wiring through an ordinary socket.
